Washington's Grist Mill

Built in 1932 as a reproduction of the mill which Washington constructed here in 1772 when ships still navigated Dogue Creek. The mill helped Virginia farmers diversify their exports from tobacco to flour.

Location 5514 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway.

Hours 10:00 to 3:00 Thursdays through Mondays during summer, closed in winter.

Telephone 780-3383. Ranger on duty also gives tours and is not always at the phone.
