Voting
Registering to vote may be done at any public library or by mail, except during the last 28 days before an election. Before certain special elections the 28 days may become 6 or 13 days depending on the office involved. Registration is permanent as long as you remain a Virginia resident. However, if your address changes you must notify the Registrar in writing.
Party affiliation is not declared when registering to vote. Polls. On election days, we vote at our local elementary schools. The polls are open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the Registrar no later than five days before the election by mail or three days in person.
